Professional Background:
Rob has been with InterPlan for five years and brings strong GIS, transportation planning, and travel model experience. Rob has recently been involved with modeling efforts for multiple environmental documents including the Provo Westside Connector EIS, Provo Northwest Connector EIS, 2300 West Lehi EA, and the 200 East; North Logan to Hyde Park re-evaluation and EIS. Rob also has significant experience with transit modeling, including the Bangerter Highway 600 West EIS which involved analysis of the proposed commuter rail stop and transit oriented development within Draper City. He also worked on the North Davis Scenario modeling for UDOT that evaluated transportation and transit scenarios for the region. As part of the study, Rob modeled multiple transit scenarios that included new bus, BRT, and LRT service with increased parking costs and expanded use of eco-passes at the proposed Falcon Hill Development. For the Dixie MPO Model Validation, Rob oversaw the addition of transit service within the QRS II model. Prior to joining InterPlan, Rob worked as an intern for the Los Angeles Metro, the transit agency/metropolitan planning organization for the Los Angeles area.
Personal Interests:
During my two years with the Peace Corps in El Salvador I was assigned to work with the San Isidro city and community leaders. While there I learned how planning can change the world in which we live. In fact, I was so inspired that it led me to pursue graduate work in urban planning at UCLA. I hope to create for the citizens of the communities we work with enhanced transportation choices and connectivity that helps them create a sense of place.
