Philosophy:
My interest in urban planning originated during a college semester spent studying urban issues in Chicago. The complexities of the problems and the interplay and relationship between elements such as land use and transportation are what attracted me to the field. In an effort to expand my horizons as well as my comfort zone, I took a professional hiatus in 1998-1999 and did volunteer work in San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala. I can sum up the experience by saying that it was the longest time of my life and I wouldn’t trade a minute of it. Away from work, my husband and I attempt to keep up with two young children and a 100-year old home, neither an easy task. In my free time I love to ski, ride a bike, travel, and read.
